This year we decided to invite some friends over for an all-adult (meaning no children) party. Everyone brought their favorite hors d'oeuvres and/or dessert. The food was great, the games were fun, and we just all had a great time (I think. I did anyway). I had some fun concepts as far as the decorating went. I had a couple of white japanese paper lanterns, some cool fabrics, flowers, etc. I was planning on having the party on our back patio. Dylan worked so hard to make the back yard look great and the patio all cleaned and swept and sprayed off. Unfortunately, as I started to decorate the wind kicked up and just steadily kept getting worse. I decided to look online at the forecast and whaddya know, thunderstorms and a severe wind warning. Great. A day earlier the forecast said it would be sunny and 90 degrees. So, I had to move the whole operation inside. I was a little bummed and was trying to find a way to still make it work inside. But we finally figured it out and we think it turned out pretty good. Aside from the decorating, we had a fun time getting to know some of our friends and neighbors better. It was a nice break for all of us and we're excited to throw more parties this summer! (Thanks to our awesome neighbors who let us borrow tables and chairs! You guys are such great friends!) Here are a few pictures of our little bash:
